The NYU Stern Blockchain Digital Asset Forum, in conjunction with the NYU Stern Executive MBA program, is pleased to invite you to join us for a Fireside Chat with SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce and Laura Shin.

Commissioner Peirce has been an advocate of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and innovation in the space, so much so that she was even coined the name “Crypto Mom.” Commissioner Peirce wrote the now famous dissent on the approval for a Bitcoin ETF and she is very interested in providing “non-enforcement guidance” for cryptocurrencies and challenging the way things have been done in the past. Commissioner Peirce earned her B.A. in economics from Case Western Reserve University and her J.D. from Yale Law School.

Laura Shin is a crypto journalist and hosts the crypto podcasts Unchained and Unconfirmed. Formerly a senior editor at Forbes, she was the first mainstream journalist to cover crypto full-time. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Honors from Stanford University and has a master of arts from Columbia University’s School of Journalism.
